Artist Statement: I explore the distinctiveness that characterizes my parents’ hometown and where I spent a quarter of my life. I often find these qualities tend to be overlooked or forgotten but, having the perspective of both a local and a foreigner means that I can see and cherish them. The buildings and their interiors tell a story of what has been and what will be and they’re ones I convey through my work.
