Artist Statement:
“I’ve always had a fascination with Takashi Murakami’s art style but mainly his iconic flower. I wanted to make some type of art piece with this flower but struggled to find a medium that could convey the dimension I feel its shape holds until I was introduced to paper mache. I believe that it can properly convey the simplistic round shape with more depth than a simple canvas or piece of paper can.”
