Description: The image shows how in modern society, young girls are growing up with beauty standards that are physically impossible to follow, leading many children feeling insecure and undesirable in their teenage years. This is caused by television and advertisements depicting what the term “being beautiful” is. These children are taught that beauty is one specific set of rules, one specific set of standards, when in actuality it is what is found within oneself. I want to advise all younger girls that beauty is not what someone else imposes, but what one brings upon themselves and others with their actions, not their appearance. The open window indicates that there is a hope for her childhood, a hope that she may not pay attention to what others say and to go back outside to enjoy her younger years in obliviousness.
