Description: The robot, Gadget goes submarine mode and discovers an anomalocaris and a horseshoe crab under the water. There is still garbage leftover from humanity’s pollution, this is meant to emphasize how slow the return of wildlife to the Earth is, as well as the longevity of plastics. Realistically, this isn’t how life reemerging would look, but Subnautica is a nod at the textbook illustrations of prehistoric life, particularly of the cambrian explosion.

Artist Statement: My artworks are all centered around a robot character of my design called Tungsten Gadget. My artworks are organized in a chronological timeline through which we follow Tungsten Gadget along the potential future, and span of life existing on planet Earth. My hope is that people of all ages will view my works and come away with a new way of thinking about how humans are affecting the Earth.
