Artist Statement:
This painting captures a moment of loneliness and yearning. I painted it on Christmas, a time traditionally filled with joy and togetherness, but for me, it felt like a reminder of the isolation I experienced. The ghosts in the painting represent the invisible parts of ourselves—those who are unseen, unheard, and alone in their pain. The quiet celebration they share is a reflection of my own hope that, even in moments of solitude, there are others out there who feel just as I do. The backdrop of night, with the mountains and a house adorned with a bow, symbolizes the warmth and connection I longed for, but couldn’t quite reach. Through this piece, I express the delicate balance between solitude and the unspoken desire for belonging, hoping to connect with those who understand the feeling of being quietly unseen.
