Artist Statement:
The piece explores color layering with deep, rich colors of a sand filled environment. The artist uses a variety of application methods, allowing semi transparency of the canvas beyond, making the line work a statement, much like the way a rainbow dances to the surface and interacts differently to the surfaces it intersects. The juxtaposition of light and dark, allows the warm orange and deep reds to collide gently with the deep purples and greens in a playful manner. The color layering allows the viewer to understand and appreciate color and the manipulation of it in a much more dynamic way.
