Artist Statement:
I am absolutely mortified of bees. I cannot simply stand there and ignore them, I must get as far away from them as possible. It’s so bad that I will flinch whenever I hear a bug even remotely close to my ear. It’s mostly because of the fact that I got stung behind the ear when I was really little, that and my aunt’s terror that I inherited. This was a way to make that fear into something fun and silly.
