Artist Statement:

This was taken during our conservatory meetup in our school’s courtyard. Every new school year, the entirety of the visual arts conservatory comes out and hangs out outside–all connected by visual arts. In this photo, three of my friends and peers were talking about what pose they might do for the Visual Arts Conservatory Portrait, and they tried this one out. I took the picture and I realized, by being here and just creating along with others, I create my own community that I can rely on and trust. My own community, my own queer family.
