Artist Statement: My photographs main purpose is the achievement of peace. The drive for peace is a long process and looks different for everyone. It is something we aspire and go through many challenges along the way, but you end up with something to be proud of. In my artwork “Beginning” it literally represents the beginning. When I picture my childhood, in my head I remember the times where I was the most happy and spent my time filled with things I love. You can find a swing in every neighborhood, but when was the last time you actually went on one. In your childhood. The specific time of day I chose was really what set off the image. I was able to capture the greenness of the grass, and the beautiful sky to exemplify the feeling of childhood.
