Artist Statement:
My artwork is supposed to be is a tilted building around in a city, along with different birds on top of the building, also with different colored flags. What had inspired me to create my art was when I was younger, my grandmother had me and my sisters watch a show called “Sesame Street.” One of my main favorite characters was Big Bird. I loved how his feathers were a bright yellow, how he himself was big but also seemed fluffy. Around that time, I loved going outside and being out in nature just to see all the different types of birds either in my backyard, front yard or around my neighborhood. Another thing that had inspired me was when I was starting an art project, I had searched up things you would not normally see on a daily basis or this time of day. I had then come across an art piece where the buildings were slanted and the lanterns sign had “Up Town” on it.
