Artist Statement:
Dreams are shaped by our experiences, emotions, or thoughts; they take the form of our hopes, desires, and aspirations. This work is a study of Germane Barnes’s “Identity Column III”. My pieces for this exhibition intend to explore my own dreams– both abstract and tangible– but also the dreams of others. In my study, I took care with color choice and hatching techniques to reflect my interpretations of the dreams I’ve had and appreciate those I haven’t. I encourage the viewer to reflect: do we all dream the same dream?
