Artist Statement:
Mental exhaustion is shown through visual exhaustion through the composition of the artwork. The empty space covered by graphite exemplifies the cloudiness of an athletes head that leads to mental exhaustion. The clouds surround the figure in order to bring emphasis to the figures posture as it is alone in the open space as it collapses into itself. The lines at the bottom of the work act to create a sense of depth in an endless void in the figures brain.
