Artist Statement:
My art piece is about the feeling when me and my dance friends are backstage and about to go on to perform. I made this piece because this feeling brings me a lot of joy and I don’t think this perspective of a performance is really shown a lot. I chose to try and replicate parts of my own stage that we perform on and also parts of theaters that I’ve been in and really enjoyed watching ballet there. I also wanted to draw a similar costume that we had to wear for Snow, one of the dances in the Nutcracker. I used colored pencil and alcohol markers for this piece to try and show realism and more detail.
