Artist Statement:
The images I depict grapple with our understanding and relation to the world through animals.
In my images of animals, I experiment with diverse mediums, styles, and colors in an attempt to demonstrate and examine the intersection of animals, nature, and humans (or, better yet, anthropocentrism).
Writings, oral histories, historical representations, and lived experiences with animals serve as the informational bedrock for my work.
While my creative process for artmaking is highly experimental, it seeks to push the boundaries of my artistic self-expression and regularly used images of animals in visual culture.
