Artist Statement: My piece mainly represents social change and revolution, each of my artworks come with a story. This one portrays an original character by the codename “Frizz,” working on the latest prototype of a tool that will aid in ending the tyrannical reign of a pharaoh Moshe. I heavily drew inspiration from Ancient Egypt, representing the typical mudbrick homes that were seen at the time by choosing a warmer color palette for the overall piece. I used real wires and gears for the background the represent the saying “like a well oiled machine,” to show that the inner workings of social change is based on dependability and consistency. The exposed edge canvas style was meant to give a weathered feel as if the painting was a story written as old as time.
