Artist statement: This piece represents my Ukrainian culture by showing a woman in a traditional Ukrainian dress. I painted the Ukrainian flag to tell that it’s Ukrainian and also incorporated the colors into the sky. The sunflowers represent Ukraine because they are known as the national flower.
