Artist Statement: Stemming from my freshman year in high school, I had an interest in the art of photography. With this, I decided to take my first photography class in my sophomore year. While in this class I started off with subpar work: and in my opinion I ended the year with subpar work. When junior year began I decided to stay in photography and was placed in the honors version of the class. While in this version of the class I began to take the art of photography and creating art far more serious. This class taught me an abundance of information about the different techniques and avenues I could take while creating artworks. I am currently a senior and I have been placed in a class called “AP 2D Art & Design”. While this year has just began I have found myself realizing the major progress and difference in my art work from over the years to now. I have begun developing concepts and meanings behind each art work I create.
