Artist Statement: My favorite part of this artwork was the gradients I was able to achieve on not only the skin but the clothes as well which made the portrait feel more unique. I didn’t have an inspiration for this portrait, I just picked Steve Urkel because he was the first person that came to my mind. If I were to recreate this portrait, I would add a little bit more detail on the shirt since it seems kind of bland as a simple gradient. Some concepts I have learned were how to use different tools used in google drawings like polylines and curves, and how to use different border weights. Something that surprised me about this artwork was how many options I could use to make it turn out like how it is now. I took a picture of Steve Urkel (that you can find easily on google) and traced his features such as his face, eyes, ears, etc. Then I did the same for his clothes and overall straps. Then I colored them in with a gradient as if there was light reflecting on one side of him.
