Artist Statement: This is my community superhero project. I researched six different community needs: environment, education, transportation, safety, health/wellness and housing insecurity. Based on the research I found that Bridgeport does not have enough trees which leads to less clean air and I wanted to create a community superhero that addressed this need. My superhero has the power to grow healthy trees in less than 1 min with growth serum. I created a badge that represents these powers. One thing I learned through this project is that Bridgeport has a lot of problems that the citizens can solve by working together. I hope to spread awareness to this need in the community by letting everyone know what’s the problem and how we can fix it as community to make the future better.
