Artist Statement: I made a large reduction print of downtown Chicago, and the L’train was the inspiration behind the entire print. My brainstorm process for this print was to create a piece that reflects everyday menial tasks. For me, I take the blue line train everyday to get to school, and I wanted to make a menial task fun. So I added a bright analogous color scheme to reflect a neon city at night. I turned a boring task I do everyday into a colorful print that is not only fun, but a depiction of the city I grew up in.
