Description: This piece was part of a “Chicago” series painted to decorate the interior of a restaurant in the River West neighborhood of Chicago.
Artist Statement: This acrylic painting was made because I wanted to visually represent memories I had from my childhood. Growing up in Chicago my parents didn’t have a car and I was fascinated by CTA trains. I remember the different styles of train cars. I have memories of the windows that opened and closed with the breeze coming in. Looking at the maps of train routes helped me pass the time until my stop.
