Artist Statement: Over my artistic career, I have experimented with many processes and materials. My favorite mediums to work with are digital photography and digital drawing. Throughout my portfolio, I worked with digital photography and photoshop. I am very interested in the manipulation of images, as well as the artistic processes that bring me to a final piece. I follow the cycle of identify, ideate, create and revise. Through these steps, I find my goals in the beginning and fine tune them as I experiment throughout my project and review my work to make changes.
I have always been interested in creating abstract art, something that draws the eye in and makes the audience think. I have always wanted to create pieces that are odd and take a while to figure out. Most of my pieces included work with the combination of urban landscapes, as well as inclusion of natural landscape and some experimentation with materials such as ice. I pay a great deal of attention to color relationships as well as balance. To me, art is an outlet that brings me joy in even the worst moments. Expressing myself creatively is a fundamental part of who I am, and I will continue to be creative throughout my life and career.
