Artist Statement: This is a canvas painting that used acrylic paint and some thin brushes. I was inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting, but I used his technique in a slightly different way. My brush strokes are made with thin brushes and the colors are painted on horizontally. I put each brush stroke in its own place on the canvas. I differed from Van Gogh in the sense that I made it a field that views the sky and not a city. I thought this would bring a more open sense to the painting.
