Artist Statement: This drawing based off of an image of my little sister really conveyed the happiness and joy of childhood. She was eating a popsicle and I was melting down her face. Not only does it show her bubbly personality, but it also creates a positive reaction for the audience as they see a memory filled only with joy. It also furthers the concept of the simplicity in happiness and we see how in childhood, we find joy so easily. The audience may see the importance in having a greater appreciation for simple things.
