Artist Statement: My intention for picking Stacey Abrams as a symbolic icon for this particular piece of art was because of the current political shifts after the Georgia Senate Elections and the Presidential Elections in 2020. I am passionate and engaged in what’s happening in American politics, and recently, Georgia has been a topic of interest for political connoisseur because of its changing demographics. Georgia has been a reliable Republican state in the last 20 years, but with the shifts that took place it is now turning purple due to Ms. Abrams efforts.
