Artist Statement: I wanted to put a twist on a jack-o-lantern making it devious instead of jolly. The first thing that came to mind was a jack-o-lantern that was possibly sneaking around waiting to jump out and eat someone or something. The thing I wanted was to show that when people or animals are preoccupied at times they forget to pay attention to their surroundings at times. To me it shows that people and animals should pay more attention to surroundings preoccupied or not. It may not be seen at first but what I want my piece to say is that paying attention to surroundings are important.
